About WealthGen Investor

Who we are

The WealthGen Investor platform is owned and operated by Vertical Capital Markets, trading as VFS Group, an AFS licensee (AFSL 418 418). More information is available at vfsgroup.com.au.

WealthGen Investor is a white label of the Interactive Brokers global trading platform. All technology — execution, settlement, currency conversion, and banking deposits and withdrawals — are performed by Interactive Brokers.

We act as an intermediary between self-directed investors and Interactive Brokers technology, providing local service and support, including assistance with onboarding and day-to-day platform use.

Who is Interactive Brokers?

Interactive Brokers is the platform we have partnered with for holding and trading listed investments. Founded in 1978 and listed on the Nasdaq, it is one of the world's largest electronic brokers, used by individual investors, hedge funds, proprietary trading firms and advisers across more than 200 countries and territories.

A single account gives you access to shares, bonds, currencies and commodities across global markets, with institutional-grade execution. The account is opened in your name and remains yours. You retain full control over your holdings, your cash and every decision made within it. Independent industry reviews consistently recognise it as a world-class platform for execution quality and low cost.

Where is my money held?

Australian dollar deposits are held in a trust account with HSBC in the name of Interactive Brokers Australia, separate from the firm's own funds.

Where are my assets held?

All assets are held in custody. For US-listed securities, Interactive Brokers LLC generally acts as custodian.

How safe is Interactive Brokers?

Interactive Brokers Group is a publicly listed company, which means its financial position is disclosed publicly and updated continuously rather than presented as a snapshot.

Its operating subsidiary holds equity capital substantially in excess of regulatory requirements and carries no long-term debt. Unusually for a broker of its size, the majority of the firm is owned by its own employees and their affiliates rather than outside shareholders — management participates in the downside as much as the upside, which shapes how conservatively the business is run.

Interactive Brokers LLC holds an investment-grade credit rating from Standard & Poor's, and files its financial statements with its regulators monthly in its FOCUS report, reflecting mark-to-market profit and loss across all securities positions.

Current capital figures, credit rating and filings are published by Interactive Brokers and available at ibkr.com.
